DETROIT LAKES, Minnesota (May 12, 2025) – SJE is excited to announce that Brian Key has joined the company as Corporate Marketing Manager. Brian will coordinate marketing strategies and initiatives for SJE and both company divisions, Control and Level-Sensing Technologies (CLT) and Engineered Control Solutions (ECS). This includes integrating marketing into all SJE departments, along with supporting its digital marketing, social media content, website presence, and marketing and attendance at industry trade shows and events.
While holding a bachelor’s degree of science in advertising and journalism and a master’s degree in public administration and non-profit management, Brian has more than 27 years of marketing and communications experience from working with corporations, nonprofits, and small businesses. For the past 16 years, he has spearheaded marketing strategies and driven media relations for a variety of clients, such as those in manufacturing, energy, finance, and education. Among other success stories, Brian’s initiatives helped launch new products for Neptune Technology Group and KW Container and achieved unprecedented results for state programs such as Alabama’s Break for a Plate and Veterans for Hope.
Brian enjoys building relationships, as well as helping companies and individuals grow. He states that, “Every business has a story, and I enjoy understanding it and finding a way to get it out to the right audience.” Brian’s highly organized approach, combined with experience supporting clients in the water and wastewater industries, will make him a valuable leader for the SJE marketing team. Through the implementation of effective communication and marketing tactics, Brian will support SJE’s growth and development.
Brian enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Donna, have three boys and enjoy attending their sporting events. Brian and his family are avid Alabama football and Atlanta United soccer fans. Brian serves as a deacon and teaches in the college ministry at Eastmont Baptist Church, and he serves on the board for the Samaritan Counseling Center in Montgomery, AL.
